An armadillo’s head and body are covered with bony plates to protect them from predators. They also have powerful front claws for foraging and avoiding predators.
Armadillo’s love to dig and be underground so they have adapted a specialised respiratory system which allows them to breathe the air that fills the space between the soil without breathing any soil in.
