Do you know someone who has a passion for animals and is considering a career in the animal industry? We have an exciting opportunity for them. Our Zoo Academy is designed for 14-17-year-olds who are interested in working as a Keeper, Vet, or in research and conservation.
Our 3-day course provides a unique opportunity for them to experience how the animal industry works. The course includes a combination of practical and theory sessions, where students might learn about animal health, husbandry, nutrition, and even take part in veterinary workshops.
Led by qualified teachers and zookeepers, the course offers an engaging and fun learning experience. Participants will even receive a certificate upon successful completion of the course, which can be included in their CV.
Zoo Academy will take place over the Easter and summer holiday periods, with each day running from 10 am to 4 pm. Candidates must be physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weathers.
We provide a T-shirt (uniform) for each candidate, and all they need to bring is a packed lunch for a picnic in the zoo. Your child will have the opportunity to work with a variety of animals and gain practical experience in animal husbandry and veterinary care.
