Many recent visitors to Reaseheath Mini Zoo have been enquiring about Cookie and Muffin our wonderful capybara boys. They are the most requested animal for our animal encounter experiences, and very popular with everyone who gets to see their antics during a visit! We’ve been working hard behind the scenes arranging bookings and trying to fit everyone in who has already purchased their experience, and decided it would be helpful to post an update here on the website – if you have a voucher and haven’t yet booked a slot please do so, and let us know if you need any help.
As our capybara are so popular, we need to allow Cookie and Muffin to have a break between meeting their fans, and ensure we maintain high welfare standards. This has led us to create a new scheduling system for all our animal encounters. This change means we can provide more experiences with a greater range of animals, whilst scheduling in ‘rest days’ for them all – as they all have busy days during the week with our students, too. You can find our more information about the new schedule on our experiences and encounters page.
In regards to current availability, we only have a couple of slots left from now until the summer for those who already have vouchers. To keep up with demand we are planning to release a set number of experiences for purchase on a first come first served basis, probably after the Easter holidays although we haven’t set a date just yet. Please be patient with us for now, and we will be posting more information on our website and social media in the run up to releasing further availability.
If you have any questions about any of our experiences or bookings our friendly team will be happy to help, please drop them an email on zoo@reaseheath.ac.uk
Luckily the capybara aren’t our only option for animal encounters, so if you can’t wait to visit and want to get up close and personal with one or two of your other favourites, please have a look at our website for more information and to book a slot here: Experiences and encounters – Reaseheath Zoo
Thank you for your patience, we hope to see you at the zoo soon!
